Former professional cyclist from Australia and Tour de France champion in Sprinter’s classification- Robbie McEwen is going to be a part of the BGC CycleAsia Philippines which is going to start on the 22nd of November and continue till 23rd of November. He is going to be joined by the national team members and almost two thousand riders in Taguig City.
This event is going to feature rides such as Ride with Robbie, The Challenge, The Community Ride, The Junior Challenge, The Kid’s Ride, The Tricycle Ride etc.
The BGC CycleAsia Philippines is actually being held to celebrate the National Bicycle Day in Philippines. The National Bicycle Day is celebrated in order to promote awareness about cycling and how it is the most fun and efficient means of transportation.
BGC (Bonifacio Global City) in association with Sunrise Events Inc. (SEI) organizes the BGC CycleAsia Philippines which is also a branch of Cycle Asia. Some other sponsors of this event include Rudy Project, Lexus, Pioneer Insurance, Garmin, F2P, Devant, 2Go, NxLed, Philippine Star etc.
SEI’s president Wilfred Steven Uytengsu said that the 2014 BGC CycleAsia Philippines is extremely special because Robbie McEwen will join the national team members, Chris Allison (national coach), top finishers of Ironman World Championships and Xterra World Championships.
Spectrum Worldwide’s (Cycle Asia’s owners) CEO- Chris Robb is of the opinion that cycling has become very popular in Philippines especially if one takes into account that this event is being held along with the National Bicycle Day celebration. Chris Robb also hopes that all the participants enjoy the event in the best possible manner.
Apart from the different rides and cycling events, appropriate entertainment arrangements have been made for the cyclists, families and tourists. Cycling and Lifestyle Expo beginning on the 21st of November, 2014 is surely going to be an attraction at this event.
